One important part of funnel marketing is to create a strong social media presence for your business, brand, or organization.
And to do that, you’ll need a business page. Here I’ll go over all the steps you need to create a great Facebook business page.
Start by signing into your personal Facebook account. Facebook requires every business page to be linked to a personal Facebook profile, but all the information — posts, comments, photos, updates, etc. — will remain separate. Unless you have a Facebook or Instagram account manager, it’s perfectly fine to use your own account.
Next, visit www.facebook.com/pages/creation/. Once there, you’ll see two options: “Business or Brand” and “Community and Public Figure.” Choose the option that best suits your goals. A “Business or Brand” page showcases your products and services to reach more customers through the Facebook platform; a “Community or Public Figure” page allows you to connect and share information with people in a particular community, team, group, or club. Neither one is better or easier in terms of social media management; simply choose whichever best describes the page you want to set up.
After choosing the type of page you want, you or your social media management team will have to fill out a few fields: page name, categories, address, phone number, etc. Although you can always add or update information later on, it is best to be sure you have all necessary information before creating the page. It always improves your social media presence (not to mention your SEO) to include all the relevant information on your social media accounts.
Next, click continue and follow the on-screen instructions to finalize your page. Once your page is created, you’ll want to populate with imagery and content. A profile picture and page header are a great way to start! Tip: Make your branding easily distinguishable by using your logo as your profile picture. And if you don’t have a logo, check out our business branding page!
Like personal Facebook profiles, business pages can be customized with stories, events, and more. People who like or follow a page can get updates in their newsfeed, so be sure to add content, custom graphics, updates, and more on a consistent basis.
That’s all! Enjoy your Facebook Business page.
